Competitive vaulting was introduced by the FEI as a recognized sport in 1993 as artistic riding. If vaulters choose to compete, they perform in two parts: compulsories and freestyle, both done to music. Vaulters compete as individuals, in pairs, or squads.

Compulsories are a prescribed set of moves, and Freestyle is a unique composition. At the highest level there's also a Technical test. Vaulters are judged on correctness of execution, creativity, degree of difficulty, security and flow. Their horse and lunger are also given a mark which is combined with the vaulters for the final score.

There are local, national and international competitions we attend throughout the year. No previous experience is required - there's a minimum of 2 competitions a year suitable for all levels.  Koot-Neigh provides the horses, equipment, coaching & support to make the most of the experience.

All four of us had such a great day yesterday! Thanks for all your hard work that you put into the weekend. It's such a  great experience for the younger girls to participate in a friendly, small competition.... we took two very tired but happy girls home.

When we joined the Koot-Neigh my daughter was looking for something competitive, but also a club that nurtured of her as a person. By caring
for the horses, she has not only grown personally, but witnessed the horses prospering in their talents.  The coaches are consistent and loving.
Its been a win win for our entire family.

We enrolled our daughter in vaulting because of her intense love of horses. The combination of hands-on horse time, physical competency and
detailed coaching proved to be a great fit to ensure her passion was encouraged and supported. The horses are gentle creatures, through
obvious care and devotion by the coaches - it's clear they love their horses and this unique sport, going out of their way to provide a safe,
exciting experience for participants.

SummerFest was such an amazing self esteem booster for our girls - my 'I don't want to do competition' daughter is now interested in competing!
The level of care and understanding you show each vaulter is why they're successful. Thank-you for your drive and commitment to these kids.
